The Fray is Set to Release New Music Ahead of Tour Kick-Off

Four-time GRAMMY-nominated band The Fray will release their brand-new single, “My Heart’s a Crowded Room,” on July 18 (via The Orchard).

Written and produced by Joe King, Ben Wysocki, Dave Welsh, and Jason Suwito, ‘My Heart’s a Crowded Room’ offers a compelling look into the band’s next chapter, pairing their signature emotional intensity with a renewed sense of clarity and introspection. While rooted in a conflicted love story, the track introduces a warmer, more luminous sonic palette, bringing a sense of buoyancy and hope that reflects the broader emotional scope of their forthcoming project.

“I’ve heard it said, ‘trust your inner voice’ when in reality, I think we have a crowded room of voices within us,” said King. “To me, our inner contradictions are one of the most fascinating forms of complexity, as there is a secret light and energy in contradiction. I think we speak more honestly to the world, we learn compassion for ourselves and others, when we can accept all of our beautiful contradictions.”

The band recently performed the track live at Summerfest in front of a massive crowd, where they also sat down with CNN for a special segment ahead of their performance for CNN’s The Fourth in America. Watch the interview HERE and performance HERE.

Earlier this year, The Fray announced their highly anticipated How to Save a Life: the 20th Anniversary Tour, a global celebration of their iconic 2005 debut album. Fan response has been overwhelming, with over half the tour dates selling out within hours and 28 shows sold out so far, with low ticket availability in all remaining cities. The tour will visit more than 20 U.S. cities and 21 international destinations, offering fans around the world the chance to revisit the music that defined a generation.

Limited tickets remain and are available now at www.thefray.com.

Originally released in 2005, How to Save a Life became a defining album of the 2000s, earning widespread critical acclaim and producing major hits like “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and the 5x Platinum title track, “How to Save a Life.” The album reached the top of the Billboard 200, garnered four GRAMMY nominations, and has since amassed over 12 billion streams globally. Two decades later, its impact remains as strong as ever, resonating with fans old and new.

The Fray – composed of Joe King, guitarist Dave Welsh, and drummer Ben Wysocki – will kick off the tour July 25 in Dallas, TX, with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville, and more. The tour will conclude December 12 in Manila, Philippines. U.S. dates will feature support from The Strike, Landon Barker, Cassandra Coleman, verygently and gavn! joining select shows.
